The inevitable emancipation

In Hindi there is an important word called "Bodh", the closest English translation is called "realisation" but it's not realisation exactly, it's not discovering a pre-existing concept, it's verbalising a new conclusion as a part of one's intellectual and spiritual journey.
Bodh happens suddenly and one must keep logging their Bodh, another myth is that bodh happens to Gurus and chosen ones, it happens to everyone as part of their evolution, some tend to reflect on it deeper and some tend to either not acknowledge it or take no cognizance of it.

Some quick "Bodh".

I used to walk from my hotel in Seattle (whenever I travelled there) to my office for 1.5 miles. I used to start at 7 am and typically Seattle has cold mornings, each morning, I would see at least a few homeless people sleeping under a plastic sheet, some were often shivering and mostly in a pitiable state. Pain in any human or animal is bound to trigger pathos in a human being. It used to bother me as well and I used to avoid those streets, change routes almost every day. During lunchtime, I used to go across the road to a Falafel place and on way back wud sit on a bench outside of the office to finish it. In our office, we had a huge "pet recreation facility" where employees could walk their dogs, feed them, wash them and just let them be. A few pet companies would often come around and offer promotion "pet food". On my way back, I would often think, we are building newer facilities for pets and lesser for humans. That often used to trigger a thought in me, we defend who we want to, we save who we want to, we are as ruthless as wild animals. We are so ruthlessly still "Hunters, gatherers and Survivors". There is no such thing as good people. and the world is still divided between lions and lambs, the predator and prey, the people who "take" and those getting "took". Working Hard and playing fair is our deeply engrained conviction but the fact is "playing fair" is a plastic bone (one given to pets) invented by the rich and powerful to keep 98% of the world distracted and keep chasing "peace and happiness". The world is divided. Very Few will see the purpose beyond the role-play of Lion and the lamb. On my way back, I used to look at the same homeless people and think, they were Lions too, someday. I was telling a friend, there is a term called Chakra used in Sanatan texts, Chakra means round cycle, whenever you see someone, think of a clock, some are travelling their journey from 6 PM to 12 PM (its morning for them and they are on their way up ) and some are travelling their life journey from 12 PM to 6 am (they are in the afternoon and on their way down), everyone is either going up or down. So in conclusion, be nice to people on your way up in life as you are going to meet them on your way down in life. Material Success, beauty and fame imprison you to a treaded chase, the Bodh gives you the inevitable emancipation.

There is a new term I am coining - Depedestalizing, which means taking a figure and /or conviction of the pedestal we place them on, whether we place them there or we place them there because someone in the past convinced us to do so. About Pedestal, one dialogue from dhoop kinarey has always resonated in my head "Jin logo ko hum aasmano pe baitha dete hai , jab who girte hain who dukh unhe nahin hamein hota hai". Be Careful about who you place on the pedestal and don't be scared of taking them off that pedestal. We are who we place on a pedestal. Show me who a person appreciates and idolises and I know 2/3rd of that person. There was a term I used to read early in my life, it's called ""Errors and Omissions Excepted" in short E&OE, this was used on bills and invoices in the olden days. It simply meant, forgive us for the errors.

Forgive yourself for errors and practice Depedestalizing

Today's song is a Dushyant Kumar Classic, plagiarised by Swanand Kirkire and myself!
